Brick City Kitties Rescue is Newark's first 501(c)(3) cat rescue. We TNVR feral colonies, take in abandoned pets, and find loving homes for the friendly ones. Right now there are 130+ cats counting on us!
Every cat is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested. They're ready to go home with you. Fill out an application and we'll talk through the right fit!

A spare bedroom or quiet corner is enough. We send food, litter, and vet care; you give a cat somewhere safe to land. It's the single biggest thing you can do!

$25 feeds a litter of kittens for a week. $85 covers a spay or neuter. $170 preps a cat for adoption with vaccines and microchip. 100% volunteer-run, no salaries!

Barbara had been doing the work for years before there was a 501(c)(3) attached to it. Trapping in Newark colonies. Taking in dumped pets. Answering messages at 2am from people who'd found a litter under a porch.
In 2022 she made it official. The name "Brick City" is for Newark, and the initials B.C. are hers. It's that personal.
Most of the 130+ cats currently in the rescue live in Barbara's home. They're fed twice a day, every day. The friendly ones get fostered out and adopted; the ferals get TNVR'd and looked after in their colonies. She does most of the trapping herself.

100% of donations go directly to the cats. Nobody at Brick City Kitties takes a salary. Tax-deductible. Every penny makes a difference for an animal in need.
